Bake Calm: Chamomile Lavender Tea Cake Recipe

When you don’t need a full cake, this scaled-down recipe brings all the cozy, floral comfort of chamomile tea—just in a smaller, sweeter dose. Perfect for two to three servings, or a quiet evening treat.

Time Required

Prep: 10 minutes

Bake: 35–40 minutes

Cool & Glaze: 30–40 minutes

Ingredients

3 Twinpetals Chamomile Lavender teabags

1 cup all-purpose flour

½ tablespoon baking powder

½ cup unsalted butter (softened)

½ cup sugar

Zest of ½ lemon

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 tablespoons honey (for glaze)

How to Bake Calm into Cake

1. Brew the tea

Steep 3 Twinpetals teabags in ½ cup boiling water for 10 minutes. Discard the bags and let the tea cool. Reserve 2 tablespoons for the glaze.

2. Make the batter

Cream butter, sugar, and lemon zest until light. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder, and about ¼ cup of the brewed tea. Mix gently until combined.

3. Bake it golden

Pour the batter into a greased 6-inch loaf pan or small baking dish. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.

4. Glaze and enjoy

Warm 2 tbsp reserved tea with honey. Once the cake is fully cooled, drizzle glaze over the top and let it soak in.

Why You'll Love This: It’s soft, subtly sweet, and gently floral—with real chamomile-lavender notes from the tea. This isn’t just a dessert; it’s a ritual in cake form. And because it’s small-batch, it’s perfect for gifting, sharing with a friend, or enjoying slowly over a couple of days.
